Property Damage Done By Wildlife

A person to whom wild game can cause damage must, in an appropriate manner, as a good owner, do everything necessary to protect their property from damage.

Owners of agricultural and forest land on which there is a hunting ground are obliged to use appropriate protective equipment provided by the hunting ground manager and to implement other prescribed measures to prevent damage to game.

If damage cannot be prevented in any way, the damaged party can request the manager of the hunting ground to take appropriate measures to prevent further damage.

The Minister prescribes the types of measures, and the method of providing funds for the implementation of the measures.

If the owner, tenant, or other user of the land, does not allow the manager of the hunting ground to secure the land, obstructs him, or removes means or obstacles to prevent damage in any way, AND does not allow or prevents hunting, intentionally damages or removes hunting facilities, has no right to compensation for damage caused by game on these areas.

The damaged party is obliged to report the damage on agricultural and forest land in writing to an authorized representative. The representative will then publish the personal data and address by December 31 of the current year in a locally customary manner, within three days of the day on which the damage was noticed.

Commission for assessment of game damage:
- Damijan Maurič, president of the commission

- Ivan the Master
-
Anton Jarc

- Assoc. dr. Srečko F. Krope

Written reports of damage caused must be sent in writing with a form to the address of the Hunting Family Boč na Kozjak or to srecko.krope@siol.net .
