Hunting-Nature Educational Trail of Hunting Society Boč na Kozjak

On April 22, 2015, the "Hunting-Nature Educational Trail of LD Boč na Kozjak" was officially opened. You are warmly invited to explore it. At the provided link, you can find the signs and points along the trail.

How did the opening ceremony unfold?

The introductory musical greeting was performed by the Horn Players of the Ptuj-Ormož Hunting Association, led by Mr. Danilo Ivanuša (musical director) and Mr. Franc Slodnjak (organizational director). Established in 1990, the group performs at all hunting-related events in their community as well as at other gatherings. In 2000, they were awarded the Order of Hunting Merit III Degree by LZS, and ten years later, they organized the 38th meeting of Slovenian hunting choirs and horn players in Ptuj. In the same year, they were awarded the Order of Hunting Merit II Degree. In 2005, on the occasion of their 15th anniversary, they received the Plaque for Hunting Culture. This year, they are celebrating their 25th anniversary. Congratulations on the jubilee!

Representatives of the local community, the Municipality of Selnica ob Dravi, educational institutions, representatives of local associations, neighboring hunting families, and others participated in the event. A total of 64 attendees gathered, and there was ample food and drink for all. Members of the UO LZS, presidents of various commissions, and even non-hunters who have supported us in various ways were present.

Both hunters and non-hunters contributed to the creation of our trail. During this year's regular general assembly, we expressed our gratitude to certain members for their work on this project by awarding them family recognitions. The following members received recognition:,

In the hunting lodge of LD Boč na Kozjak, as part of the Hunting-Nature Educational Trail, we prepared a small library containing works and books on hunting themes. Although the collection is modest, all books were donated by hunters, our members. We kept only one copy of each donated book for the library and distributed the rest to locations where, in our opinion, they would serve their purpose well. A total of 50 books were donated to the Elementary School of Selnica ob Dravi and its two subsidiaries, as well as to CŠOD Škorpijon. Hopefully, these books will be read.

The Hunting-Nature Educational Trail of LD Boč na Kozjak was officially opened with encouraging words from the president of the Hunting Association of Slovenia, Mag. Srečko Felix Krope.

Library of the Hunting-Nature Educational Trail:

In the library of the Hunting-Nature Educational Trail, we have collected works from the Zlatorog Library on hunting themes. The works are available at the hunting lodge of LD Boč na Kozjak, in the library of the Elementary School of Selnica ob Dravi, at the two subsidiaries in Gradišče and Sv. Duh, and at the Center for School and Extracurricular Activities Škorpijon.
